What are tithes and offerings, and why do we give?
The word "tithe" literally means tenth (or 10%). The bible says that everything we have comes from Him, so tithing is the act of returning to God what is His. When we tithe, we put God first in our lives and trust Him to provide for all our needs. An offering is anything we give beyond that 10%.
God is the ultimate giver! He gave His only son, Jesus, so that we may live.
